Indonesian reformation era activist got banned to enter malaysia after the Lawyers for Liberty (LFL) express shock and appalling confession forbiding Mugiyanto, an Indonesia prominent reformation era activist and other activist for their considerable unlawful and harmful speech.
Mugiyanto was banned on thursday from entering the country at KLIA 2 and deported back to Indonesia. Though the reasons remains vague, LFL assumed that Mugiyanto got banned due to the speaking at Bersih’s #YellowMania forum, “People’s movement can bring change” on Thursday evening. LFL stated that barring Mugiyanto from entering the country in order to prevent him from speaking at a civil society forum was delibaretedly unlawful.
The bann of mugiyanto also likewise have happened to other activist from other country for their public speaking in civil forum. LFL hinted the anticipated act of prevention toward the coverage issues that are ulterly motivated.
As the decision of LFL for mugiyanto case incited controversy, LFL defends that the policy to forbid Mugiyanto for his speaking engagement should not considered as the abuse to the freedom of giving ideas publicly as the normal thing in democratic state like malaysia.
