
This traditional village is occupied by abui tribe of which there are 13 tribal chiefs within the village.
There are 40 family members within with majority of occupation as farmers. Their daily job is to sell the crop from their fields.
What makes the magnet of tourism is the study of this tribe which is believed to be local people of abui. Abui itself is derived from the name of mountain at the background of the village.
The houses in the village are made of bamboo. The roof is cone in shape sustained by popular redwood. Not all the people are allowed to enter the house since the heirlooms kept within the houses.
Takpala, cultural heritage of alor is around 30 km from the capital city. There are 15 houses within and the village itself is located in mountain slope.
