Garuda Indonesia Airways after dodged by its bad reputation of poor service and safety has turned out as the number one choice of the flight in the country. After series of success in domestic flight and some international routes, Garuda is to expand its wings in USA exactly the route flight to newyork and los angeles.
Garuda president director M arif wibowo is quite optimistic that the route to USA is included in the plan of the company for five years. Arif foresees the business opportunity through the data that almost 400.000 passenger per year from jakarta to new york and los angeles.
What lies as a little hindrance is the permit from USA federal Aviation Administration to audit the expediency of garuda in term of safety and services. Garuda has to pass the audit in order to receive the permit for direct flight to that world number one country.
Garuda expected the audit will be released on july thus next 2017, the route to LA and New York will be started.
All of the documents (for the audit) have been accepted and God willing, this July, we will get the good news as a Ramadan holiday gift," said Mohammad Alwi, the director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations at the Transportation Ministry.
