Government to Import Buffalo Meat From India and Beef up to 100 thousand tons To Control the Meat Price

Government is ready to import again the buffalo meat from india. The rising demand of the buffalo meat becomes the alternative of beef. 

Economy coordinating minister darmin nasution said the goverment will permit the quota of import up to 100 thousand tons for 2017 of which 70 thousand tons up to december 2016 meanwhile the rest to anticipate lebaran long holiday.

President director of BULOG djarot kusumayakti stated the beef import has been 5300 tons. 1400 tons has been quarantened and the rest is still wait for sanitary verification.

The goverment likewise to import 700000 cattle feeder until the end of 2017.The government points out the company of fattening. Breeding cattle import rations also has to meet the ratio between cattle breeders and cattle feeders. 

Darmin said the goverment has prepared the farm while it is not easy deal to find the land for breeder, darmin said. 

Government is seriously controlling the price of meat especially during long holidays like lebaran or chrismass and new year. Last year, though jokowi promised to down price the beef to Rp 80.000 per kg, in the field it was still beyond Rp 100.000 per kg.

Goverment wants the price of beef for instance will down to Rp 65.000 each kg thus they are sincerely finding option though increasing the quota of imported meat and buffalo meat from india.
