Tax amnesty of First Period is beyond Jokowi's expectation

The first period of tax amnesty ended on friday september 30th,2016. The government offered the lowest ransom rate for the taxpayers which is 2%.

President jokowi in press conference accompanied by finance minister and chairman of general directorate of taxation tito sulistio claimed that the achievement during first period is beyond the target.

President jokowi appreciated all the people and institution involved in succeeding the flagship of government. Total of surged in fund in friday september 30th,2016 at 21:00 pm was Rp 5,540 trillion with total ransom fund is Rp 97.1 trillion out of target Rp 165 trillion. However the majority of ransom fund comes from declared asset in the country and not from overseas. 

This ex governor of jakarta appealed for taxpayers who have not joined the scheme to get involved in program offered. This is 2 period rests that will last in march 2017 with different rate ransom offered.

On the other hand for the second period that will start on october 1th,2016 finance ministry targets for the micro and medium enterprises.

Nonetheless, the government has to exert extra effort to withdraw asset from overseas especially from neighbor country singapore of which estimated money of wealthy indonesian are Rp 4000 trillion or 50% from total asset of singapore banks.

Jokowi highlighted the trust of citizens which contribute much on the success of tax amnesty in the first period. Thus mr president called for the momentum of tax amnesty is to enlarge tax base, reformation of taxation and likewise to increase tax ration.
