National police in chief: fatwa MUI adversely impact toward national security

National police in chief, tito karnavian cited the secunder impact of fatwa ulama national council(MUI) that has not only limited about halal or haram but has broad impact that enthreaten national security. "what is interesting, fatwa has implied toward our legal system, in fact fatwa is not part  of legal system but has contributed toward the forming of public opinion in some cases such as alleged religion defamation by governor of jakarta, ahok , rally of 411,212 and many others.

Last time, MUI released fatwa that ahok statement defamed ulama and qu'ran, as the effect, some moslems held rally to demand prosecution of this incumbent jakarta governor. In other cases, the fatwa to prohibit the use of chrismass attributes has made some chaos of sabotaging the sale of such attributes in malls, cafe and many others.

According to tito, though 212 and 411 rallies were basically conducively held without riot but fatwa nevertheless entreathen national security. Thus Police in fact respect fatwa and MUI yet encourage fatwa to also ponder the national security.
