Business Association Considers the Revocation of Freight Ban during Idul Adha as unwise and Obselete

The business association blames on revocation of truck and container prohibition during idul adha as unwise, too late and obsolete. They claimed that though the ministry of transportation revoked the freight ban it still remain detrimental for logistic business since they already arranged the operation.

The legal letter of ban was accidentally revoked by minister of transportation due to the complaint of logistic businessmen on account of the lost gained which is estimatedly Rp 100 billion. 

Business association stated that there should be a prudent and well prepared anticipation before releasing the policy other wise the same case will recur in the future. They stressed on non communication of transportation ministry to related stakeholders thus implied on the disadvantage to the businessmen. They have cut the scale of operation and impossible to suddenly rearrange right after the revocation toward the ban.

The chairman of forwarder indonesia logistic association(ALFI) hanafi yuki said that it is too tight with the revocation for the logistic companies while they have issued the operation for the freight on saturday. Consequently, the goods remained stock in container depot and warehouse, she said.

Though the ban is not applicable for export import case but she said in the field, there is still the ban. "we know all what is going on in the real field", she added.

ALFI expected that this will not recur in the future. There should no obligation to forbid the freight operation during holidays especially the long holidays. In fact, the business stakeholder still to calculate the loss caused by the discretion. Yuki hanafi took the example of china which does not ban the logistic operation during big holidays.

However, the minister of transportation budi karya sumadi claimed that the discretion was not a mistake. The transportation ministry leaned on the fact of traffic jam resulted during the holiday. Budi said that it is to anticipate the incident like brexit toll of which mostly assumed as the reason for resignation of former minister jonan.
