China has been the partner of mangosteen trade of indonesia for long. However, indonesia blames that china is not fair and not transparent. China still use the third party like malaysia, vietnam to import mangosteen from indonesia including china which has not yet signed the protocol of import.
The head of quarantine and biosafety plant ajanto dhikin stated that the long procedure through third party makes the hard competitiveness of indonesian mangosteen and disadvantageous to the farmer.
China on the other hand still unready to sign the protocol unilaterally and abruptly. China argued that they still to ensure bureaucratic rules and asking to prolong the term up to end of december.
China ever rejected the mangosteen imported from indonesia declaring it contained dangerous chemical. BUt after the inspection and recheck, arjanto said the mangosten does not contain harmful substances. China finally admitted its mistake yet not willing to declared it openly. This is surely not an advantage for the part of indonesia.
Indonesia calls for the transparancy of china regarding the export of mangosteen to the country. China should underlines the points and requirements to be fulfilled. In fact, there are around 54 products already certified for the export to that country.
