Minister luhut pandjaitan finally conveyed formally that jakarta bay reclamation is to continue under moratorium.
The reclamation was shutdown permanently by ex minister rizal ramli yet harvested controversy after ahok pointed out that ramli does not have right to terminate the case.
Luhut claimed that there is no problem with the reclamation, it is only technical problems need to ber concerned such as environmental legal issue and engineering.
The coordinating minister of maritime stressed that the reclamation basically not occuring on ahok's governance. It has previously done during the era of akbar tanjung under the platform of giant wall establishment. Reclamation is the only part of project of mega project of coastal capital of the state commonly recognized as giant sea wall.
" Do not think this new projects is in the days of Ahok. It has happened before", luhut said. The ground breaking of Natioanal Capital Integrated Coastal Development(NCICD) part A started during the period of ex coordinating minister of economy chairul tanjung 2014.
Luhut seems to defend ahok that the establishment of giant sea wall is in urgency to deter the penetration of salt water and rob to the capital state. Ahok in his testify before the court on allegedly corruption case of reclamation with convict muhammad sanusi explains the importance of giant sea wall and his procedure to gain the fund from developers through legal agreement in order to build the project of which requiring big amount of money. Ahok considers that it is impossible to use jakarta's province budget to build giant sea wall, it requires trillions of fund, ahok said at that time.
Luhut pandjaitan also called not to use reclamation for the sake of politics. It apparantly reclamation has been a politization by unresponsible persons. There are recurred the rejection of reclamation like from environment activist, politicians, and many others. Ahok was snided to pro with developers.
Minister luhut pandjaitan skimmed allegations to ahok claiming that all stakeholders must obey the regulations. All the institutions related like ministry of maritime and fisheries affairs, environmet and forest ministry were called to discuss the reclamation.
