Java Power Plant Project Faces Land Availability Problem

Java Power Plant Project Faces Land Availability ProblemPower plant project that is to transpire in java island encounters the challenge of land liberation. Implementing the platform of president to provide 35.000 mega watt electricity power plan, java which is chosen as the project area being toppled by the difficulty to free the land from the local people.

PT. PLN stated owned company in fact has auctioned that tender to 4 consortium companies which are mitsubishi and pjb, adaro and sembcorp singaporean company, consortium marubeni and sojitz, and consortium medco and nebras. PT PLN has postponed the scheduled document collection deadline for the consortium 3 times from may 10th, july 25th and august 25th due to unreadiness of land liberation to build the power plant.

Fahmi radhi, the energy watcher of gadja mada university stated the the postpone of project power plan is basically due to the unavailability of land and uncertainty of prime energy. Government on the other hand reasons out to build reclamation land to overcome the situation. But the problem lies then on the hesitance of investors to start the project since there is not certainty of prime energy and land provided as the main prerequisite.
Meanwhile to build reclamation island near to the main project area will cost much and not easy to be done.

Government and PT PLN in this case should have already anticipated such necessary things prior to the project to begin. PT PLN should have paid and fixed ahead the land problems and include them in cost for tender to be paid by the investors. The problem of land liberation is due to low compensation price offered to the owners of land thus they are nevertheless quite rigid to allow their land freed for the sake of project.
