Merpati Airline will Operate again in 2017The stated owned enterprise, PT merpati nusantara airlines will be fully operate again in 2017. The company was reported in bankrupt in 2014 since the company was always deficit.

The SOE ministry set target for the airline to fly again after fixing all the restructuring process.Deputy restructuring of SOE ministry, aloysius K. Ro explained that with the proviso of remaining this year has been approved by the ministry of finance and gaining the new investor. Merpati airlines has signed also the cooperation of operational maintenance with garuda airline. This is the big concrete step to establish big capacity of the aircraft maintenance business with garuda airline which already recognized even internationally.

Government to ensure the operation of merpati airlines in 2017 has also injected the funds in the form of the state capital to complete the business restructurung around Rp 400 billion. As the part of restructuring, merpati has begun the settlement lay off about 1500 employees. 

While it's difficult to find the investors in the midst of deficit and high debt of the airline, PT. merpati will openly recruit the investors which can be both a carrier scale investors or a pure investor. The company also wills for share acquisition even up to 95% dilution provided the chance to fly again in 2017 achieved.

The process to find strategic partners will be publicly announced after received the permit from finance ministry and parliament  approval that will  be held. Meanwhile regarding the debt, Aloysius said to give the ease in the pattern of debt to equity swap or conversing debt into shares. 

The business opportunity of airline is still quite promising alluding to the fact that almost 600-700 service flights that have not been reached by airlines. This can be the vast market for merpati and promising prospective business for the investors candidates. 

In order to operate again in 2017, merpati airline has to attain permit from transportation ministry and own minimum of 5  airplanes.
