Waiting for Legal Certainty, Tax Payer are Still Hesitant of Tax Amnesty

Serious anxiety seems to snob the government following the realization of tax amnesty that is still too far from the target. Up to august 17th, 2016, total tax amnesty collected are Rp 1.14 trillion from total target of Rp 1000 trillifunds that have been declared reached Rp 29.46 trillion. In details, Rp 25.8 trillion foreign declarations and declarations of Rp 3.66 trillion in the country. While the ransom reached Rp 625 billion, with the total number of Statement of Assets (SPH) reaches 4,994
on up to march, 2017. Meanwhile

In fact, the government, through president jokowi himself has directly socialized the program to the businessmen who are still saving their money abroad. Including the new finance minister, sri mulyani directly socialized and created the easiness of procedure and law, the termination of tax investigation for tax amnesty participants.  President Joko Widodo wished fund repatriation and declaration of the tax amnesty program reached Rp 5.000 trillion.

Director of executive center for indonesia taxiation analysis ( Cita ) yustinus prastowo said that the legal certainty becomes the main problem of tax amnesty participants. They are waiting for surely legal law provided or presidential regulation as the real legal protection for them. The participants are still afraid of being confronted before the law since the government has not released the legal protection for them. 

The achievement of repatriated funds that are still too far from target basically alarming the government to ensure all the elements ready to boost the program. The failure of tax amnesty will be the great challenge since the government relied much the national budget deficit from tax amnesty post.
