Perhutani Uses Drone for Forest Control and Monitoring


Perhutani makes use of drone technology to control the forestry area. The state owned enterprise has the total area 3.7 million hectares having the problem related to time frame in fores management planning, monitoring and protection that requires extra effort.

In order to support the management of forest resources, perhutani with Pt LEN industry decide to use cooperative control system of drone technology. This is to ensure and strengthen the forest planning, productivity monitoring more efficient and accurate. Denaldy maulana, president director of perhutani stated that even the company capable to monitor the forestry during the night by means of drone. This help much the forest police in charge to support their work. The capability of this drone helps to optimize operational activities because this technology can be used for inventory  a stump, monitor the standing position better in the field.

President director of LEN zacky gamal admitted to support the synergy between both state owned enterprises and claiming the trial of drone has been taken in indramayu. This is the first time to use drone for the sake of forest monitoring, zaky added.
However both directors of both companies have not affirmed the total of drones that will be used. There is still necessary calculation to be made before releasing the sum of drone used for the breakthrough of forest monitor by the companies.
