Singaporean companies engage cartel in indonesian logistic

Allegedly 6 singaporean companies are involved in cartel practice of the logistic costs batam-singapore, said business competition supervisory commission(KPPU).The cartel practice was acknowledged after the fact that cost of logistic from singapore to batam is more expensive than jakarta singapore. This is quite irony since the distance of batam and singapore is closer yet more expensive in term of logistic cost, said chairman of KPPU syarkawi rauf.

To investigate the cartel allegation, KPPU will cooperate with singapore business competition commission and expecting to haste the examination and charge the formal sanction toward the involved companies.
Furthermore, KPPU asked the senate to amend the law article 5 year 1999 thus KPPU has authority to take action against companies abroad as they involved in non fair competition of business. On the otherhand, KPPU claimed the cartel practice has been transpiring for so long by singaporean companies.
